After more rain and Keith's broken foot, we were able to hire someone to dig the footings for our foundation. Below is the carport. The footings have been dug, the dirt is covered with visqueen, and the wire mesh is in place. Here is the house with visqueen.

We had a few weeks of rain which delayed us getting all the dirt we needed to fill up the forms, but we finally got to start working again. Keith's uncle, Frank (a plumber) did the plumbing rough-in for us. The copper piping with the red and blue sleeves are for hot and cold water, respectively, and the white PVC piping is toilet and tub drains. Keith standing in front of our neighbor's house. Below is the plumbing for the kitchen sink and dishwasher. (Keith and I are SO excited about having a dishwasher, it's not even funny.)
Here is the formed house with the plumbing. Kitchen plumbing again. (Left is sink and dishwasher and right is for the refrigerator)

Here we are about to set an elevation for our floor. Keith driving the very first nail for the house (for the formwork) Here the formwork for the house is almost complete. Most of the carport was also formed this day, but it was too dark to take pictures by the time we had called it a day. (pictured to the left is our framer and friend, Troy Latiolais)

Here we go!

Here is our floorplan and all the elevations (click on the image for a larger view). Our house is approximately 1,425 square feet of living area and 2,771 square feet total area (this includes carport and porches, etc). Part of our rear porch is screened and we will have a half bath off of our carport which we imagine will come in handy when we have parties. Also off of the carport are two rooms: one is for Keith and all his boy/hunting stuff and the other is my room where I can draw and paint and not have to put anything away!
